World Bank – Universities Through the Looking Glass report

In 2011-2012 I worked for a World Bank program based in Marseille, France at the Centre for Mediterranean Integration and focused on the financing, internationalization, and governance of higher education institutions in the Middle East and North Africa.  Together we teamed up with education ministers and university administrators from across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as with partners at the OECD and French Development Agency.  Research in four countries – Tunisia, Palestine, Morocco, and Egypt – culminated in a comprehensive report; the development of an online practice tool, data website, and online community of practitioners; large-scale workshops for practitioners and experts; and expansion of the program to additional countries.
